A Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) Study or RAM analysis is essential for evaluating production performance throughout the field’s operational life. This study utilizes life-cycle performance simulation software (such as MAROS) to assess Production Availability and Production Efficiency. By considering factors such as equipment expansions, component reliability, and system constraints, the RAM model provides valuable insights into the constraints on repair activities and identifies potential areas for design modifications to enhance overall system availability.
To determine Production Availability and Production Efficiency, a life-cycle performance simulation software package, such as MAROS, is employed. This software uses the production profile for the full field life, including future equipment expansions, to provide accurate assessments of the system’s reliability and availability. By simulating the performance of various components, the RAM model helps identify potential constraints on repair activities imposed by factors like flaring limitations, mobilization delays, shift constraints, resource limitations, and capital spare availability.
The RAM study aims to identify the key failure components within the system. By analysing their reliability and maintainability, any areas that require improvement can be identified. If necessary, recommendations for design modifications will be made to enhance the overall availability of the system. This proactive approach ensures that potential issues are addressed before they impact production.
