Tata Steel secured a contract in providing High Frequency Induction (HFI) line pipe for an oil and gas project north-east of Shetland in the UK North Sea.
More than 10km of HFI pipeline from its 20-in mill will be manufactured from the company.
The contract duration lasts for 28 weeks where the work scope involves 5 different types of wall thickness and 5 different diameters.
For over 24 years, Tata Steel has supplied North Sea with more than one million tonnes of pipeline for oil and gas projects. This also includes the excess 500,000m of reel installed pipe. Tata Steel has also invested more than £250 million of subcontracts for North Sea projects.
