Gas Dispersion Modelling (In 2D and 3D Forms)

Gas Dispersion Modelling assessment looks at the dispersion of smoke generated by fire events and unignited flammable/ toxic gas due to loss of containment/ leak incidents. Such incidents may create a hazardous situation where personnel safety is compromised if exposed to a toxic gas cloud or plumes of smoke obscure their vision.

When a gas or vapour is released into the atmosphere, it disperses in the atmosphere. This is a process whereby the original vapour cloud is diluted with the surrounding air as time passes. As the wind is defined as the movement of air from one point to another, any vapour released into the air will naturally travel with the wind, that is, the wind advects it. These scenarios can be modelled using industrial recognised software (2D or 3D approach) to estimate the extent of the gas cloud based on its release characteristic, location of release, wind condition and the like.

SynergenOG Expertise in Gas Dispersion Modelling

At SynergenOG, we are dedicated to prioritizing safety in the oil and gas industry through Gas Dispersion Modeling in both 2D and 3D forms. With a track record of success in assessing and mitigating gas dispersion hazards, we ensure that your operations adhere to the highest safety standards.

Smoke and Gas Dispersion Assessment: We assess the dispersion of smoke and unignited gases, providing valuable insights into the potential hazards.

Dilution and Wind Effects: Our models take into account the dilution of vapours with surrounding air over time and the advection of gases by the wind.

Software Modelling: We utilize industry-recognized software to model various scenarios, estimating the extent of gas cloud dispersion based on release characteristics, release location, wind conditions, and more.

2D and 3D Modeling

  • Comprehensive modelling of gas dispersion scenarios
  • Identifying potential hazards and their extent in both 2D and 3D forms
